Account information
Staff
Changes effective June 30, 2025: Your Google and Windows accounts will be disabled on your end-of-contract date.
Start the manual file-transfer process early. Once your account is suspended, it will remain suspended; individual exceptions will not be made.
Do not delete Drive files you have shared with other staff. Important shared material should likely be stored in a Shared Drive.
Follow FOIP requirements. Do not remove data containing student names or other protected information.
Taking all or part of your email is unsupported.
Students
Save anything you need before your account is suspended. Once suspended, it will remain suspended; individual exceptions will not be made.
Start the manual Drive file-transfer process early.
Taking your email is unsupported.
Use a personal email address when communicating with colleges or universities.
Save content from Google Drive
Download the files you are permitted to keep from Google Drive to a USB storage device.
1
Check your storage use
Open Google Drive and select Storage on the left. Decide which content you actually need and confirm your USB device has enough free space.
2
Download files manually
Copy the files to your USB device in manageable groups. Follow all FOIP requirements when deciding what may be downloaded.
3
Verify the files
Open files from the USB device and confirm they transferred successfully before your account is suspended.
Important: Sharing files from your Wolf Creek account to a personal Google account is not enough. You will lose access to those shared files when your Wolf Creek account is suspended.
To keep a Google Form or Google Site, share it with your personal Google account and then make a copy while your Wolf Creek account is still active. After confirming the copy belongs to your personal account, remove the original sharing permission.
